Volvo Construction Equipment is rightfully considered one of the leaders in the construction equipment market, but do not forget that this brand also produces marine and industrial power plants and aircraft engine components The history of the creation of the company dates back to 1927. In 1936 Volvo produced its first hydraulic grader and in 1967 the first hydraulic excavator. In 1950 Volvo acquires the manufacturer Bolinder-Munktell (BM), allowing it to enter the construction equipment market. Since that time, Volvo has been pursuing an aggressive policy: the 1980s and 90s were marked by large takeovers of such American and Asian construction equipment manufacturers as Clark Michigan Co, Samsung Heavy Equipment Construction, Akerman, Euclid, Champion Machinery, Pel-Job. One of the most recent acquisitions, Ingersoll-Rand's road construction division, took place in 2007. It should be noted that the name - Volvo Constraction Equipment - received only in 1995.
