Takeuchi Mfg. Co., Ltd. was founded in 1963, and by 1971 began manufacturing mini-excavators (the first mini-excavators in the world). Today Takeuchi specializes in the production of construction equipment: mini excavators, hydraulic excavators of medium class on crawler and wheeled, crawler loaders, mini dump trucks.
Takeuchi has three plants in Japan and three subsidiaries: Takeuchi Mfg. (U.S.), Ltd. founded in the U.S. in 1979, Takeuchi Mfg. (U.K.) Ltd. (U.K., 1996), and Takeuchi France S.A.S. (France, 2000). In 2005, it opened its first overseas plant, Takeuchi Qingdao Mfg. Co., Ltd. in China.
