LIEBHERR-INTERNATIONAL AG - company history Hans Liebherr founded the family business Liebherr in 1949. The first mobile crane manufactured by the company marked the beginning of Liebherr's worldwide success. Today the company ranks among the world's largest manufacturers of construction machinery, and also operates in many other areas: ship, container and portal cranes; machine tools, automatic lines; aviation equipment; transport equipment; household appliances (refrigerators and freezers). Over the years, the family business has expanded to over a hundred companies worldwide.
