Since 1852 and over the next 16 years, the company name has changed several times: John Deere, John Deere & Company, Deere & Company, and Moline Plow Manufactory. Deere & Company was officially incorporated in 1868.

In 1935, manufacturers joined forces to sell their products, especially in California. The collaboration, which was strong at the beginning, weakened over time, completely ending in the mid-1960s.
